A coastal flood advisory remains in effect from 7 PM this evening to 7 am EST Wednesday. Low pressure well offshore and high pressure to the west will combine to produce strong northwest winds along the coast this evening through early Wednesday. The northwest winds will increase water levels on the sound side of Hatteras Island with minor flooding expected. Areas from Hatteras Village North to Avon can expect water levels to rise 2 to 3 feet above normal tonight... with minor flooding adjacent to the sound expected.
